Crankshaft taper
« on: January 23, 2009, 11:45:08 pm »
Are there different lengths to the taper/threads on the old style (removeable eccentric) 28ci cranks? Reason I ask, is that I have one here that is shorter than all the others. If you set a flywheel on it (ARC wheel) the top of the crank is even with the top of the flywheel. Dimentionally, everything else is the same, except the tapered portion of the flywheel side is about 1/2" shorter....anyone ran across this?

sounds like a crank from an older engine possibly early 80's model or older. if it don't fit right i would stay away from it  it will cause problems.
