what is the max with in inches for the outside to out side of tire front and rear i read the rules and all i could make out was the wheele base rules .i'm buying an axle and want to have it right

The rule reads 38" >side wall to sidewall<...which does mean tire...and some people run a little wider than that on the actual rim flange...(if you run wider rims than tire rating)

But some LCs run a "Go/No Go" gauge...top to bottom either fits or you don't run...

I don't care to stand in line and argue about a 1/4" one way or the other...so I'd set up to clear the "gauge"...

thanks squidd so it would be better to go with 38 in over all i will be running a full season next year and don't want any issues again thanks for your great in sight

even with the go/no-go gauge thats many techs use, if it falls past the sidewall and sits on the rims, it is still legal. Been there done that may times. Like you said

Not the rim. If an LC tech fails a racer for this he is worng.
