If you have a cast cam it can be welded and matched to most any lobe
profile that will work with flat tappet lifter (while having welded get the gear lightened). As long as the cast stock cam fits
your motor and you are within working limits of your valve springs
it'll work. Word to caution, I do not have any testing time on the proper closed and open spring pressure to use(these valves are larger and heavier than the ones I dialed in years ago on gokarts). You want some controlled floating of the valve to prevent premature lobe tip wear on a welded cam.
I have not reread all of my post here, but I just realized this is the flathead
part of forum. No I have never ran a flat head in a mower, as all I've built
were ohv. I'm new here, Just stumbled over sight a few days ago. I believe most of my post will work on a flathead with exception to some head work(roller-rockers).
