Whats the right pounds per squre inch for the head bolts on a 8 hp

165 "Inch/Lbs ...(make sure your not using Ft/Lbs...)

and  also it wont run but it smokes a bit whanting to start and back fire what could it be

Possibly Timing..(sheared Key...?)

But could also be worn valves...

ok i flush gas tank it had clog and put new gas line on and clened cilanderhed and piston ndput new plug so i hope it runs.i have race on sun and still need to add the brakes and stuff so i might be raceing on sunday
