I was just wondering,  what is the different's between an Intech engine and a vanguard  I can get a Intec 23 hp for one price and a 18 hp vanny for about  $150.00 more.   go figure.....Bob

vanguard is the better built motor hands down, the reason for extra cost

Both great platforms, which is better can (and probably will) be argued either way.

I love the Intek's they are definately cheaper (startup costs) and they have the potential for more cubic inch than the vanguard.

Don Gienger G-Team Racing, has built a great Intek v-twin program check it out (www.g-team.us) or give him a call 701 400 4084. He has plenty of racer references from guys he has built inteks for and guys that have built thier own Intek's using his parts.

If it were me, I would get the Intek and put the $150 you save into mods and kick some grass.

I have seen both run and both do well! I guess it is your preference and as lvine stated the inteks are cheaper to start with, but internal modifications will run you about the same as the Vanguards. Open em up and decide which one you like better.
I prefer the Vanguard, just seems better built as George described.

I am partial to a good INTEK if you got the right heads and carb on it.

I run the smallest cubic inch engine in Pro-X,bigger ain't allways better. It's not how much you spend it's how & where you spend it.On a good day with a good driver they don't like to see it show up even with a 400 pound fat man driving it.

That was before the 2 BUFFETS,weigh again.
I'm gone let you ride a real 5 hp one day soon 53 hoss big block, maybe the year end race, well deduct 10 per cent for gas carb.
Imagine how it would run with a 150 lb driver, would be AWSOME.  :3gears:
