vangard flywheel
« on: December 29, 2007, 11:43:11 pm »
I would like to put a lighter flywheel on a 20 hp vangaurd and was wondering if a flywheel off a say a older 16 hp would fit and would it be lighter, also would there be any starter issues.  I can't use an alum flywheel must be cast iron.

You could go get the stock one magna-fluxed to make sure its not cracked anywhere. Then take it to a good machine shop have it lightnened and re-balanced. Then build yourself a GOOD scatter sheild. Make sure that the scatter sheild is on and of the quality before you run the engine with the lightened flywheel.
