Say Rod, You should have some time to kill. The International Motor Sports Hall of Fame is just across the street from the short track. Well worth the visit, can also take a tour of the Supper Speed Way. The banking in the corners are as tall as a 4 story building at 33 deg. You can also visit victory lane.

Meeting Rod aqnd his wife was so awesome. It was worth the whole trip. I was dissapointed in the lack of mower turn out since it sounded like many more was coming. BUT those that came had a ball. The fellowship was great, Rod is funny as all get out. His lovely wife is a true racers wife and bothe were a pleasure to be around. As for the racing. It was great. Some special awards were given out and I am still KING of the HILL. Those not there sure missed a great time and good fellowship.

Plenty were taken but not with my camera, and video was shot (with my camera) BUT by midnight when we ran the feature my camera operater fell asleep, SO I have no video of my Feature. Even if I did I wouldn't even try to post any (I am on DAILUP)

Well what can I say. We had a good race, even thoe it was a poor turn out. Lots of people said that they would be there and never showed up. It was a pleasure meeting Rod, and his wife. They are the nicest people. I hope that one day I can return the favor and make one of there races. We had to drop 2 classes, and run just 2 classes. We ran the Super Stock/ IMOW. I would like to congradulate young J. Herrin, on his win in Super Stock. He took the victory by a bumper on the out side. He was sick as a dog all day. Way to go and good job. I would also like to congradulate George Herrin, on his win in the in the Super Sportsman/ BP class. I had the lead for about 8 or 9 laps. I could hear that Thunder Twin right behind me. I tryed to make my mower as wide as I could, but I went into turn 3 a little to fast and pushed out of 4. I saw that Red #6 out of the corner of my eye and I knew that it was over. I could of thrown a block, but when you're letting the pony's strech there legs it's not a wise thing to do. I would also like to congradulate Team TNN. on being the 2008, Talladega Nights. King of The Hill. Job well done.

To all our new Talladega runners and friends........That was just awesome on the track and in  the pits. George I did take some pic's with your or Jeannies camera, of the super stock/imow class. As for the racing have to tell ya folks that track is really fast, and you better have everything perfect when ya get up to speed, well I developed a wobble chasing behind George and Mike, yup I couldn't believe it either ha ha!!! staying with those two for awhile when the flag droppped with my box stock Intek 18hp. Now I know why they call that motor a Talladega engine. Had all this hope after catching and rump by Super G man in the qualifing heat. Actually his gear box froze up, ah poor baby.
We are still on our travels back, if we drove as fast as the laps at Talladega we would be home already, ha ha!!!! somewhere in Maryland right now.
This was a trip of our racing mower lifetime, and we were treated the best ever, have a boat load of trophies from races past, but my third place Talladega trophy is the best, and will cherish the memories of racing and hang out time, as a first place in my time of racing mowers. Those southern folk really know how to treat their fellow mower racers.
Thanks for a great time..............Rod and Donna  per Easton Racing

ARMA, BTMRA and everyone involved would like to thank Micheal and the ones that set this race up (king of the hill) for there time and work to put this on. The huge trophe that was presented to the BTMRA for the 08 king of the hill was awesome and will be represented well. And for those that didn't attend need not miss the next one it's well worth the drive and to drive this track is like no other!
Thanks again.
