14 hp vanguard v-twin question
« on: May 11, 2007, 09:47:51 am »
I am just getting into this crazy sport and am looking for some help. I am buliding a 14 v-twin motor and
was told that the valve begin to float at around 4000-4200 rpm. I am only running stock with govern still on right now but want to step up engine performance. I am tryin to find a hig rev kit and a cam that is
suppose to allow me to run up to 6000 rpms. Looking for any feed back and if possibly website that I
can purchase the rev kit and cam. Thanks for any help on this matter.

Thanks for adress, I tried calling them and they told me that they do not carry the high rev kits. they recomended to find a gentleman named Al Hodge to get a kit so I will try that. Does any one have a suggestion on size of cam to run with for the most part a stock engine. thanks again for any feed back.

Find George Herrin's user name at this web site and get his info and contact him. You'll be much better off with his parts sources and recommendations, I sure was. You may want a set of the longer ARC rods anyway if you're revving that high and they allow you a free compression increase via piston height.

Well there is so much you can do to a vanny. They are sweet little motors. Lewy give me a call Monday, 615-446-6807, I can set you up with everything you need inside and out on that motor.
