I hate to interupt this thread , but I have an 40 cu in intek. Is there an interchangable, but better rod/piston combo for this engine? I know there are people racing them,so what are the parts combo's? Thanks Kevin

The piston will come to the top and will work fine, your rite it will be a 31 cubic inch. It will be strong but for less rpm's say 5000 or less!

Cylinder head off a 14.5 is the same head as a 17.5. Some have more cooling finn's but the values and value pocket is the same. As for the piston we have  talked about won't work in the 17 because it is a 31 and all the others are a 28 cubic inch!
