Lower Chassis using a transaxle
« on: January 14, 2016, 03:34:16 am »
I just got into mower racing last year and ran a stock modified, This year I'm looking at getting into modified class. The group I race with allows a trans axle or straight axle with a RAGB. I don't have access to the great welder so I don't think I will be able to get a chassis built with a RAGB. I was thinking of running a lowered trans axles is there any builds on here where people have done that I can't seem to find much on the web.

Your gonna have to use a jackshaft. Go to project builds and click on racing mower build, about halfway down the page is a build that says George's sons 07 imow with 820 transaxle. Lots of good detailed information about what you're looking for.

I've always run 820's with a jackshaft of my own design. I think George's setup is similar. Buy my # 2 mower and you'll have exactly what you need.

Gary Busey and Rick James both used to live in my shop. Redline stole them.
