Huffy Steering

1970 something year model Huffy. The original steering was rt. angle gear drive. Replaced the original frt.axle with a Acme center steer and replaced the steering gears with a 1 to 1 rt. angle gearbox. Broke teeth in gearbox first time out. Straight steering shaft will not clear top of 12hp flathead. Any suggestions?

You can't have a 12hp flat head. It's got to be 8.5 hp max. See if the 8hp fits if not turn it so the head goes out the left side of chassi.

My bad. The frame has a 12hp motor setting in it, but the A/P motor will be a 19ci.

A 8hp engine is smaller in size and should give you more room.
