Pedal configuration
« on: October 22, 2015, 05:11:13 pm »
I am building my first racer and can not seem to figure out the best pedal configuration. I really want my gas pedal on the right and brake pedal on the left. If I do that what do I do for my clutch?

THX in advance!!!

Most of us run hand throttle and fell it's the only way to go, especially on rough track

CLUTCH ON THE LEFT. GAS ON THE RIGHT. BRAKES ON THE STEERING WHEEL. WORKS GREAT.

YOU PUT YOUR BRAKE ON THE WHEEL? DO YOU RUN A CABLE TO THE MASTER?

my buddy runs his brake on steering wheel, ( he has M.S. ) and gets along great this way, we put a lever with master cylinder. Probably best brakes on all the mowers we have.

DID HE USE A CABLE OR USE A WHEEL MOUNTED MASTER CYLINDER? LIKE A MOTORCYCLE, QUAD, OR SNOWMOBILE TYPE?

YES. A CABLE DOWN TO A MASTER CYL. ADJUSTABLE HANDLE ON THE WHEEL. I WOULD'NT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY. WORKS GREAT.

Thanks for the good advice. I will check out the steering wheel brake idea and see if I can get that working.

Brake on the left, gas pedal on the right, hand clutch. You only need the clutch to start moving.
