« on: July 17, 2015, 03:07:02 am »
Hi guys new to racing and im running supper mod class. The motor i have is a 19hp oppose twin (MODEL:42A707 TYPE:251  01 CODE:9503145B) From reading its a 42Cin and also read the best carb to use is the 3screw carb? (is it identify by the 3 screw that hold the airbox?) What other tweaks could i do to fine tune it or what are the best briggs parts i could put on?

Opposed twin in supermod? Isn't that similar to bringing a rubber knife to a gun fight?

Like I tell other New Oppy racers:

Read, Read, Read. Your answers are in here.  Have you read the rules yet for FXS/Supermod Single? Custom manifolds are allowed, meaning you dont need to mess with the Flo-Jet carb and that massive iron manifold, which you could almost melt down and cast a new K-block out of.

didnt look like there was much info but ill look some more. According to the rules for super modified it says " Engine must be originally manufactured for use in lawn mowing equipment and be stock in appearance, with the exception of air filter, air cleaner or velocity stack. Crankshaft must be in original orientation and clearance hole in the frame. Engine may be internally
modified."

USLMRA FX/S with Opposed engine is any manifold, according to page 17, subsection 5 of FXS class.

It is Factory Experimental Single

Would be interesting to see on the track, but I'm not sure its legal.
