help with sprockets

Hi im racing a mod x class mower and not getting the speed i need am i doing something wrong? Im running a 8 inch pully off motor to a 4 inch on transmission. then a 15 tooth from tranny to a 52 tooth on rear axle. im running 8 inch wheel in the rear. any suggestions thanks. this is one of the peerless 700 racing transmissions 3 speed.

Jump on EC's site, look for the 'technical info' heading. Play around with some numbers, you might be surprised at the results!

How large is the track you are running on? 
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!
