DIGATRON DT32 K1
« on: April 17, 2015, 08:00:15 pm »
I have an old Digatron I used on my nephews race kart. I mounted it on my race mower and Im having trouble calibrating it. The motor is a 46 opposed twin with a precision cam. Everytime I set the calibration (be it .5, 1, or 2) it reads around 2.40. Looking at the front of the motor, the wire is attatched to the left plug wire. I even have about 3" of the green wire taped to the plug wire, and it starts about 2" from the boot. Am I missing something with setting it? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!

Your absolutely right! There are 4 buttons from top to bottom: max rec, power on, mem min, and mode. Now to set you press and hold max and min down until bottom number flashes. Here was my mistake....I thought the first setting was the max rpm. It is NOT.  First setting is the cylinder temp you set to alert you of temp getting hot. Using the max button as up, and min button as down, set desired temp and hit MODE. The top screen will now flash. Using same max and min buttons set desired max rpm. Keep in mind the number you see is x1000. So if you set it at 4 it is 4000rpm. Set desired rpm and press MODE again. Bottom number will flash. This is calibration mode. My 46ci opposed twin I set at .5.  (YOU WILL HAVE TO PLAY WITH DIFFERENT CALIBRATION SETTINGS FOR DIFFERENT ENGINES) After setting this press MODE again and then hit the tiny red button on the right side of the tach. This is the STORE  button. This stores your settings. NOTE: ENGINE MUST BE OFF TO SET YOUR SETTINGS!. After pressing the STORE button, start your engine and your in business!!
