Quick question
« on: April 15, 2015, 10:15:16 am »
So not sure on whether to go with a RAGB or a Peerless 700, so my question is, what will get me the highest top end, and not take 3mi. to get there?

The 700 will allow you to shift up through the gears, never down shift!
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Speed is determined by gearing and engine RPM.

Gearing is the easy part.

Getting more RPM's out of the engine requires money.

What class are you building?   That will determine if you can even use a RAGB.

Ok FOR NOW i am sticking with the stock engine (11hp 400cc 3600rpm) untill i get the chassis done. I am thinking of just going with a 700 and be done with it, might be a little more money but i think it will be worth it.

Certain classes require certain drivetrains.

What class are you building?

Prepared classes require a shiftable transmission.

FX classes you can run the RAGB.   These require some serious cash to run.

Where are you at?

ok that's what I am planning on, also saw some guys running a centrifugal clutch, and a chain setup, would that work with the 700? if not I will just use a RAGB. Just tossing some ideas around, open to any new ideas.

The shock loading of a centrifugal clutch on a Peerless 700 will turn it into junk in a short period of time.
Possibly faster than an East German Trabant vomiting out it's entire oil supply and promptly seizing.
