Check to make sure the crankase breaher is working,  it sounds like it is building crankcase pressure to me.

Did some more checking this am and its blowing out the breather tube. Cranked and ran fine for 20 min so I got on and put it in gear and all of a sudden it started blowing out breather tube and trying to die. Seems worse when governor kicks in. It acts as if something is sticking then un sticking, sounds stupid but that's it so far.

More than likely head gasket is blown as PFG56 says.    usually will start smoking when load is applied.  Also check for being overfull on oil, carbs can leak and drain into crankcase and raise oil level. a lot of times it thins the oil down so much it makes it hard to read on stick. Check air filter for oil as well.   If your breather is puking oil it normally will get into air filter as well

MAKE SURE THERE IS NO GAS IN THE OIL. IF IT IS,YOU WILL HAVE TO REBUILD THE CARB AND CHECK THE HEAD GASKET. SOMETIMES ALL THAT GAS AND OIL IN THE CYL. WILL CAUSE THE HEAD GASKET TO BLOW.

BINGO   We have a winner. Drained oil, lots of oil. Have not filled crankcase as didn't have proper oil but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. Will try new oil and a good dose of sea foam in gas and see what happens. Many thanks to those that replied.
