« on: March 27, 2015, 12:23:09 pm »
I am buidling my own spindles. I'm going to use ec back plates can some tell me how long my spindle barrel needs to be . I'm using 1/2 black pipe and could some one please tell me how I can run a bushing in them. I don't like the ideal of the spindle barrel just riding on the bolt just want it safe

If it was DOM tubing would be better, I'm. just afraid when you weld spindle bolts to it that piece of tubing will want to bend with some rough tracks, where bolt is welded to spindle barrel.

Might be wrong
Make mine out of1.5"od that gives you 1/2"of meat to work with.  Just my 2 cents

I have been using 3/4" sch 40 black pipe for my spindles and haven't had any issues yet after 4 years.  I just take a 5/8" drill to clean up the ID of the pipe.  A few of our tracks get pretty rough once the grass gets ripped up
