All depends how much you stroke it.  Better cylinder fill, more torque come to mind.

Does the piston go down lower in bore and higher to top giving it a longer stroke? Calling it a stroker motor. Or that your just changing it's original stroke? Having a dumb moment. Lol

HUH?

If one adds stroke, then one must decrease rod length. Pistons dont like to come out of the bore. Much.

Longer stroke=shorter rod. Unless you enjoy making piston cookies.
I've made a few in my day. They were not as good as Chips Ahoy or Oreo's.

Or keep your stock rod length and move the piston pin higher in the piston.

How, exactly, does one move the piston pin location in the piston?
I'm intrigued.

One would not generally actually move the wristpin hole physically...although it could be done. You would find a piston with a higher wrist pin location...or in most mower motors case....a aftermarket piston with a SMALLER wristpin itself...the Briggs .490 wristpin size is very popular....almost standard today.

Aftermarket piston, sure. You stated move the wrist pin. That does not immediately imply obtaining a different piston..
Some could read that as fire up the die-grinder and get hogging.
Once the piston is cast, forged or machined, your not going to change the pin location. Even if you decided to offset bush it, what would be gained? Wow, a whole .025" maybe. That's not going to worth the time and effort, therefore nonsensical. Enlarging the pin hole in the piston will not be feasible on many due to the fact they are already near the ring lands.
Chicks are not going to suddenly get all frisky when you tell them you have .025" more stroke than the next guy.

Just playing Ed. If you're buiding a hi reving "race" engine I think a forged piston would be a smart choice. Not only increased strength in the material and process used, but less compression height means a lighter piston and possibly ring pack. When relying on 1 piston to move you around the track there may be some benefit. Where's the tricycle ice races next weekend :woo:

No tricycle races next weekend. Not until Feb. 14th.
Not my first broken spindle. Doubt it will be my last.
