Ok well maybe i can skip the bore and and just do a stroker,what would an 18hp crank do for me with long rods and short pistons

Yes look up 30ci vanny in seach 2ndtoys has a good combo for it.

Again, you would be better spending the money on a 38ci block, or at least a 35ci block rather than trying to bore the 30ci or make it a stroker. I've used just about every combo out there for the vannys, and the best way to go is start with the bigger ci blocks.  I have several 35ci horizontal blocks here I can make a good deal on. A good used 38ci horizontal is a rare find these days.

In 2008 Ryan Kerr won the All American with a 35 cubic inch Vanguard with 23 HP heads cut to 22ccs and flat pistons making it 14.5 compression ratio,he ran it 12000 rpm

Cromwell,give a price for a starter motor,block,stroker kit,intake for a 2 barrel,and heads

You can run the 30ci block you have and still be plenty competitive it depend who your racing with... i ran a 30in vanguard 3 year and it was fast and reliable . i won here in the summer . won everything on the ice against mower with quad and snowmobile engine. i won when i traveled to estern ontario. the only time that engine was not competitive is when i traveled to western Ontario and raced against Ryan kerr and the big kolher

i had a very simple combo . arc long rod . honda flat top piston. chetah cam. 38in valve . ec spring . stock rocker and push rod. 32mm keihin carb . this made 26hp at the rear wheel

With using the long rods and honda pistons,do i have to modify the pistons at all if im still using the 30ci heads?
