hey iv just had a good look at the v twin motor i have down the back shed.
Its a V-twin OHV motor. Not sure of the brand but my dad says its a 14.5hp V twin OHV honda he thinks..?? the engine plate has Model 290447 , Type 0375-01 7019, Code 911011.
Hope this can help with someone diagnosing the brand and size of this V twin. It has red fly wheel cover/fairing if that helps but i think they allmost all have a red cover ay../

This is a vertical shaft engine, correct?  Do those come with the alum rocker arms like the horiz shaft vanguards do?  Just curious.  If so, that's a good engine to mod.

The crankshaft orientation can be found by looking at the fourth digit in the Model number (first 2 are cubic inch, third is the design series). If the number is 0 to 4 in that spot it is a horizontal shaft, while numbers 5-9 indicate a vertical shaft. Your model has the number 4, so it is a Horizontal.

And based on the year model if the shroud is original, it will have the shaft mounted steel skeleton rockers. They aren't good for high rpm or spring pressures.
