v twin no spark

mower has been sitting for a year or two.there was a mouse nest under the cover and the kill wire was chewed so i unhooked them.flywheel is rusty.could that be the problem?both coils cant go at once can they?

will coils from a 11hp or 12hp flathead work?

got spark now.i sanded the flywheel and the coils.gaped the coils with a piece of oaktag.
