Topic: new comer with 25hp briggs off troy bilt

Hey guys I new to this never built any type of motor or racing mower and I acquired a old troy built with the briggs 25hp I have problems getting it started I have jumped the starter and it turns over and runs for a short period of time so I wanted to put a push button on it and go from there can I use a push button on this mower and what problems could be the reason It won't stay running thanks for all the help guys

Welcome to heymow and the awesome sport of Lawnmower racings. Yes you can use a push button. Try , new fuel , check fuel filter, spark plugs , air filter and clean carb. You can try new plugs , run it a few times , pull plugs and see if black , rich or oil. Or white or really clean ,lean. Running out of fuel and engine stalling.
