kohler vs intek

just got a 22 hp kohler command for free, it runs,which better to build 22 hp kohler or 25 hp intek,already am racing the intek but will switch if kohler better motor

Kohler will build more power for less money.   There just isn't as many used parts out there yet.

I had a Intek that I had more money in than the current Kohler I have on my BP.  It is night and day difference.   The Kohler has a bigger RPM range as well, making for fewer gear changes.

I would take Paul's word on it. He has raced both an Intek and a Kohler.

Kohler all the way. As Paul said, dollar per horsepower they are simply the best option.
