OPPY VALVE SPRINGS
« on: July 06, 2014, 09:07:09 pm »
Can anyone tell me which EC valve spring and retainer part numbers are for an opposed? Also does the "set" come as a set of 2 or 4 for the springs, a full or partial set for keepers and retainers? Thanks in advance!

Do you have to modify the valve to use these?

What if the valves use the "key hole" type retainer?

Ok I bought the springs, keepers and retainers from EC. Now I have a really stupid question. Do I set the valvle lash as I normally would or are the clearances different considering both springs are now the same??  :worried:

Your cam maker should tell you what to set the lash at.

The cam is out of a stock 46ci that grenaded.. This is a 40ci. The 46 cam had a the same lift for intake and exhaust while the 40 cam had a smaller exhaust lift. Im just afraid of having not enough gap on the intake valve now thst the springs are egual for both intake and exhaust. So I figured Id get a suggestion from people that have been down this road. :)

Does that mean gap them as normal? Will it make a difference or no?
