oppy cyl head temp

What should a good running moded oppy run for cyl.head temp?

I would say 400 to 420...depending on timing and fuel, should get it there.

I had a hard time getting the heads to 370°F due to the inherent inefficiencies of a flathead engine on mine, and boy did she love to run.

Thats what i thought Jim, mine run between 420-450.
Last weekend was first time with new mychron, so i had no idea what temp was till know.

Would be curious to see what happens if you fatten it up a bit.
I spent alot of time chasing head temps and revs. Lean it out, get it hotter and more top end. Sure thought I was getting some where!!
Fattened it back up, threw more gear at it and lap times dropped, speeds went up and power was better.
Head temps ran around 340-360.

And in Rooster's world, dropping lap times makes the chicks frisky. Not because of the increase in speed, but because they will get some corn sooner.
