How long to build
« on: May 25, 2014, 10:18:37 am »
Ok every1, heres the question. How fast do u think that u could build a competitive machine for a stock class using stock parts with budget of about 100 buks. U have a welder and a fairly equipd shop. Im on my third tractor and my average i figure would b about 40 hours start to finish. Thats including freeing siezed wheels and axle widening etc. With a crappy paint job lol.
pain and price are directly related to throttle position

By myself the fastest mower I've ever built was around 120 hours. I've built 5 now and my last one took around 175 hours with no paint work .3 of us built one last year in 3 days in about 20 hours. Stock class. These are all built with safety and built to last years of reliable racing. I find your way better of thinking things through while building , taking your time to build it right the first time!!

Of course finishd is a relative word as you. Have never really "finished" one yet. Lol.

If you can steal one, it takes about an hour.

Bert
Gary Busey and Rick James both used to live in my shop. Redline stole them.

With a Pinto as your get away vehicle that is acceptable.
