40 cu ohv briggs vtwin

I have a briggs 40cu vtwin I have never seen one just say vtwin it has a two barrel carb. I don't know much about it. tried starting it and it fires off of one cylinder but runs for a little bit. its getting spark and only fuel in one cylinder. I pulled the valve cover off and they all work great. im stumped  :bash:

Remove the #1 spark plug and make sure piston is moving. Its the right side spark plug if engine is mounted with valve covers at front of mower.

They both move both cylinders have compression

Ok guys the left side rod was broke. Can I put 44ci rods with stock crank

From what i learned on here  Yes you can. I dont know the exact date but at some point when the 49intek came out it had better beefier rods and they are now the replacement rod for 40,44 & 49 inteks. Check my profile and check my topics one of my posts covers this and where to get the rods for $37 apiece. They seem to be working fine in my 40
Also the search function works great on here....i have spent hours using it and reading very useful info and links to all kinds of good stuff
