How do you think that would do on the front of a mower?

Post a link to the particular engine you are referring to. Jeff posted a link to an engine but is that the same you are referring to? Also beware there is a new so called Vanguard engine out that is nothing more than a dolled up Briggs Intek twin engine.

You're right Tank. The new vanguard is nothing more than a 49ci Intek in disguise, rated at 24-26hp. However this model is supposed to have a better block with more material and better bracing, as well as a balanced forged crank and a few more upgrades. Might be an improvement for the Intek guys.  It stills doesn't deserve to have the vanguard name though. Briggs is throwing their quality down the toilet.

In the discription it gives you the model number ......... Model # 49M977_1036_G5
Meaning its a 49 intek. Many use it and theirs plenty of parts for em.

Well I may be new but I know enuff that if Mr Herrin says its an Intek then its an Intek!!!  :D  I know where one of these engines is and is in decent shape....mower not so lucky...long story  If I got this engine it would be put in a racer to run governed and in stock configuration (for now). Would the EFM be a problem? How complicated is it to use in an old tractor not wired for it? Any answers would be appreciated!!
