i HAVE AN 820-016 TRANSAXLE FROM SEARS GARDEN TRACTOR FOR $75 PLUS SHIPPING.i ALSO HAVE A 739 PEERLESS TRANSMISSION FOR $50 PLUS SHIPPING.BOTH ARE STOCK AND NEVER BEEN OPENED UP,SHIFT THROUGH ALL GEARS.Located in northwest ohio.Thanks Gary

If by Peerless 739 you mean the 700-739, yes It is a 5-speed.

1st Gear - 35/15
2nd Gear - 30/20
3rd Gear - 25/25
4th Gear - 22/28
5th Gear - 20/30

You may get a good deal price-wise on this transmission, but you might keep looking.  It does not appear any of the gears in this transmission are steel.
