Either could be faster than the other.  Depends on alot of factors.

Kenny AKA the "Wildman" was the only SP who ever beat me. If only the race had been longer...............

With the new engine rules in ap I would place my bets on ap. But mowers and driver's do play a factor in that.

Depends on a lot of stuff. I know one person who used to have an SP that I would take against most machines. AP, CP or even some BP's!  But the fact is it depends on the machine, driver, and track. A top AP will run with a lot of other machines, just like a top SP will. I've seen GP's that can outrun some built mowers. You'll have fun in either class and depending who the two machines are racing each other that race could go either way.

I've seen national level APs run right along with the CPs. Tough question to answer, the spread between the hottest and slowest mowers in any class is sometimes very wide...

The FXS & FXT are what the scales are for.  No minimum weight for prepared classes in the USLMRA.  Just have to be built by the build requirements.

Both of mine weighed 222 to 230 lbs. Could have been lighter, but they worked pretty well.
