All i can say is this has cost me 200i dollars plus in hotel reservations for Charlotte that i cant get back i am really :censored: that they did this so late a week before your first race is not a good time to change any rules oh well thats racing the sad thing i tryed to get ahold of some one about this just wanted to know a answer and what i got was a welcome to the arma from one if there board members and yet to here from the us guys its fine dont care now it was touching that i got that responce so me and 7 other guys are going arma this year i wanted to run both but not now :woo:

We are still working on this issue.    Word from the head office is that NO MOWERS will be turned away from the race in Avon Park if they have rack and pinion steering.   

My guess is that this will be true for any national race until this resolved.    There will be sufficient time given for mowers to be modified. 

So don't start cutting your mowers up just yet. 

I will keep everyone up to date as I get info.

I stopped at Lowes and looked at the mowers they sell. All the non-zero turns are rack and pinion. There is a rear engine rider with a self contained unit on the front axle. Pretty neat set-up.
With this being said, an after market rack/pinion unit is really just improving the stock set-up.
I'm not sure why this ever became an issue or why uslmra doesn't allow it when it does seem to be allowed in the smaller groups around the country and is legal to run in the larger National organization.
