You need to see Rocket Ron....he has the pushrods you need...way lighter and way stronger than those steel ones.

Will the stock steel push rods hold up to 8000 rpms?

Yes no problems there. I've used both the stock steel pushrods and the aftermarket  push rods. You can use the stock steel ones but it all depends on cam and how much your heads have been cut. If heads have been severely cut then the stock ones are usually too long which will throw your rocker geometry off tremendously.

Its been a while since I tested a cheetah cam so I can't remember what I did for that particular cam. As for cam specs give Precision a call they could give you the correct info on valve lash specs. Lol its been a while for me.

.006 and .008 i believe. I know that's what I set mine to. A little loose is safer than too tight.

You will be fine.  I've never had issues with used lifters and a new cam in a mower.

The stock steel pushrods will work just fine with your setup.   You won't be able to spin it 8000 RPM with the stock valve springs, you don't want to spin it 8000 anyway.    Get a set of used dual springs if you can.   Get a set of billet retainers for sure.   Don't run the stock retainers.

My experience with the cheeta cam is it likes 7400RPM.   Any faster and your just making noise.

Be sure to clearance the springs and valve guides.    You will bend your pushrods with that cam if you don't.

The EC billet retainers will hit the stock height valve guides with that cam. The springs may possibly bind as well.
Yes. .06 and .08
