how much to take off head

I am running a 31.non avs ohv...I am getting head work done..how much should I get teken off..when decking the head..thanks

This is one of those questions again that has a lot of variables to it.  Give us all the info to what you are doing and then we can say more.  If you don't want do that then .050 is safe.

I take .125 off, removes the first fin, no issues.
