Big Mike, find yourself two good single OHV heads. Take them to a machine shop and have the seats pulled. Then you can get heads and valves machined for those valve seats. That's how I did a set and it worked out nice. You have to find a couple good heads since briggs doesn't offer replacement seats.

Any good machinist can either get seats or make them for any size valve. I have 2 sets of Rooster's redone Titanium valves and they worked great. I had him make them a little bigger than the valves for the OHV single and my machinist made the seats for them.

Actually, I run stock Briggs valves with no problems. I use single ohv intake valves(.050 larger than the twin) and stock twin exhaust valves. I also run special top secret springs. I had Midwest cylinder head in Nevada, Iowa install custom intake seats.

Here my thoughts on breaking valves, IF you control them properly with the right spring pressures and dont float them they dont break. I ran a set of stock valves  in a vanny back in the day for 5 seasons and never broke one. (not recomended by any means though)

Cranks are ok    Just putting too much timing into them that kills them

Could not agree more Jim I have broke valves BUT its never been a stock valve. NEVER!!!! But again I refer back to my above statement on controling them.

I have broken stock valves BUT they broke due to loosened valve seats. As fare as intek valve sizes my exhaust valves are larger than the original intake and the intake is the same proportion larger. I don't kave the exact sizes handy but the are only thousandths apart from touching.
