axles
« on: November 03, 2013, 01:21:02 pm »
i have a john deere 111 that i have bought that is half built. It has a 1" axle with the ends milled down to 3/4" for the rims. Im going to get rid of that and get aluminum rims and hubs. the only thing that im confused on is shoulf i get a 1" straight axle or a 1-1/4" axle.

You should use 4130 for axles.

Don't know what alloy they use. Try asking them. 4130 is easy to find in all sorts or round dimensions.

The BMI axles are the only ones I have ran and I have never bent one yet! I have been racing for 5 years and I weigh
280 if this helps
