Turf Glide's for front tires
« on: January 29, 2007, 07:16:39 pm »
Has any of you guys ever used turf glides for racing? i know that they are really good for offroad mowers, even better than turf savers and masters. So how do they do for racing?

heres a pic in case you do not know what they look like  ;)

Tri Rib Tires By GBC  4.00x8  $52.00;  3.50x8  $50.00;  4.00x6  $48.00;  3.50x6  $46.00
(these are from http://www.midwestsupercub.net

i know these work great in tractor pulling, most turf tires dont grab enough to steer the pullers, specially when theyre goin fast. these dig in very very well, even with as thin as they are, so i would imagin they would be great for an ATLM or even a racer.

-Phil
..."I used that motto to keep going, keep pushing, keep digging to
find a way around, or through to find a hole, some kind of break that
would allow some space. Once something broke thru, I could be there to
take advantage. Then I would finish 7th instead of 10th." - Dubba G

Good for off roading!!!!! I can't imagine them being used for anything especially offroading, and as for steering pullers any puller I ever saw only had front tires to roll em around on, they steer with individual rear brakes like an old garden tractor. You can have all them you want for off roading. I don't know of a worse tire made. The were made to not grip so not to tear up a lawn. Thats why you see them alot on golf equipment.

Yes I have. I primarily run go kart tracks. Which are hard pack red clay. I used them for 3 or 4 years. They did very well. If you plan on using them in loose dirt for racing then they won't work. You'll be to loose with no traction.
