I'll bite, I assume you mean a "pittman Arm?" The thing on the end of the steering rod that makes the wheels turn? If so it's construction needs to be strong enough so it does not bend and properly attached to the steering shaft. This thing also determines how quickly through a couple of ratios how the wheels move back and forth in relation to the steering wheel.
Most people here use a direct type of steering and the amount of turn on the steering wheel is very little. My machines are less that 1/2 turn lock to lock (left to right).
How about attending some local races or build clinics and talking to some of the racers?
