I've read the uslmra rules and I'm not finding if I can use a stock front axle or not I'm building my first mower and would like to run the super stock class thanks for any and all input

Yes you can use the stock front axle.   But it isn't recommended because it will break.

Don't build to the super stock class.  It doesn't exist anymore.  I'm sure when they update the rule book this fall it will be gone. 

Choose one of these classes if this is your first mower.  IMOW, GP, AP, SP, or CP.

I'd recommend GP if you don't want to buy a billet flywheel.   SP if one is in your budget.

I would recommend the GP for the first mower. You can get some seat time in a great class with loads of competition. It's a HOT class right now. Buy you a good OHV platform to build on and you can move up to CP with some engine mods in the future. Spend your money on a great chassis the first year.
