Is it OK to remove the weights off of the oiling gear and weld up the hole in the block for the govenor rod?

Yes you can remove the weights, just pull the pins and they fall off but be sure to reinstall the gear its your oil slinger. And for the hole just as easy to tap it and run a bolt in it. Cost less too unless yopu have everything at home or work to weld it.

Thanks, has there ever been any problems with the nylon oiling gears, is there a need to upgrade, is there a better oiling gear out there?
