Heymowers,

As a professional author and proofreader, I was wondering if there would be enough interest in the magazine to revive it as a future project?  What would be required to print and publish it?  Since I don't own a racing mower yet or even attend the events due to family, time and financial constraints, I may be the wrong person asking this question.  Or would I be biting off more than I can chew...?

I think you could do it much like the NHRA does the National Dragster, have advertisers and manufacturers supply print adds and have local groups send in info from all over the US, Britain, Canada, and Down Under.  Then only send out copies to subscribers and have them available at bigger national level races.  Maybe have a build, tech, etc section and see where it went.  A monthly or quarterly would make better sense.

You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

The last mag was made avalible on a magizne site.   Can't remember the name.   I think it worked well becasue I think they printed them as they were ordered.  Keeping the publisher cost down.

Next not being a racer or one who regularly attends events will be a huge dissavantage to you.  You need to KNOW mower racing.  I've been racing for 10+ years and I couldn't come up with a single article for Aaron to publish in the last mag.

You will need articles from others.  You need to focus on the BIG picture, not what is just going on in one local area.  Which is hard to do unless you follow the USLMRA, ARMA,SOMA and all the other racing orginazations out there.  Lots of travel and lots of communication with racers/race promoters/tracks.

Also there is little to no money in mower racing.  That makes sponsorship and selling ads a challenge.

Most of the info that was in the last mag was on here.  Making it hard to sell copies.

Would it be nice to have it back?  Yes.

Do I think it will work?  Unfortunately No

Would I buy it if it did?  Yes

There's no return on the investment. Or very little at best.

lawnmower racing is like dirt track stock car racing, you spend alot of money on it, but you don't get alot of it back, but they have a magazine. I would buy one if it worked.

I agree, i used to buy a issue or 2 each month and still read them to this day. If it worked out again i would buy them again.

Aaron did a great job with this magazine. Unfortnately he just didn't have the time or the resources to keep publishing it without putting himself in the hole financially.

It does take time, seeing as you stated you already have constraints, I'd be weary.
Not that I am against the idea at all, I would live to be part of it again if you decide to go ahead!
