The part that will be in rules starts at the 2, I believe. Under the 2 it does not stay 15" limit, it removed the word width from the rules. I would believe that means you can do what you want.

"must retain original manufacturers (OEM) specifications (no chopping)"

OEM spec would be as manufactured.
It should state if the frame may be widened and what the limit would be.

If you read the whole post, it explains things pretty well I thought. In the first paragraph towards the end they state the rulebook will not be "changed" as this is a minor fix. So to me you take this "amendment" and print it off and keep it in your book or print it with your book if you haven't already done so. So, I guess in that paragraph for the "official amendment" where it says "a max width up to 15" means that you can have your frame rails be 15" wide. They have given the majority what the wanted, let it go. No sense in beating on a dead horse and harpin on it. The more cryin goes on the more rules are made...or the classes could even be done away with.

AND widening the frame rails is not chopping what are you chopping on. Geez if it said the sky was blue some one would argue that too. Even widened the frame rails are as manufactured.

Ok. This post has received the answer I was looking for and now there is a definite answer to the questions asked. Let's get out in the shop and build them. Race season is coming quick.

So I have blue-green color blindness, which is Mis-named  because it means is my eyes see blue as green and vice versa....so in my world, the sky looks green....,but green is really just a variance of blue, and you never said what color blue, so the way I read the rule book Im still legal?

Ok since I don't see the "official amendment"  that states "a max width up to 15" like Zach talks about.  Where is those "quotes"?  If they add that to the rules I agree NOBODY could question the rule anymore.  But when I print the rules and what will roll over into next years rules do not address the width issue at all!

To be honest I didn't have an issue with the first rule, but when questions are bought up and the issue is addressed.  Lets make it very clear so it doesn't keep coming up.  Just my 2 cents

Jason, Bruce sent an email out to everybody on the members list today around noon. Check it out, if ya did not get it, Kerry also posted it to the USLMRA section here in the forum. Stickies and locked as the top thread of that section. The opening line of the email starts "from the desks of Kerry and manny" or something to that tune. That's where the paragraph is I am talking about. Then underneath is the revision of number 2 of the classes in their section. Hope this clears things up for everybody. I did not realize not everybody had saw this.

Jason is right. The amendment takes out the width restriction so you can build to any width you want now.

Zach I have read the rules update. What I question is the "quotes" you talk about.  I read the rules and they seem clear to me. I guess Glenn has read the samething as me, because he agrees!  So I'm done with this topic as much as everyone else seems to be.

That's all I was asking. So you could technically make the frame as wide as the inside of the tires.

Interesting.

Could be made even wider, then step back down between the wheels.
Doesn't say the rails need to be parallel.
