New Holland S8 racing mower
« on: November 20, 2012, 10:46:50 pm »
Hey everbody! Thought I would post a pic of my racing mower.I dont know the exact year of it but it is a New Holland S8 heavy custom running in ModX. Currently it has a 40 series 16 hp oppy full stock but for some reason in the feature I ran in 2nd gear and over rev'ed and over cooked it. It still runs but wont idle and pops alot. I just picked up a 42 series 18 oppy that im in the process of tearing down and building up for next year. Its a hefty mowchine weighing in at exactly 500* with me sitting on it. Im running a 700 peerless with a 1.125 rear axle. Big plans this winter with a new front axle ( currently stock but with go kart type steering),  strengthen the chassis for better handling and trying to loose weight,  not me the mower  I weight 150* wet  I always seem to draw a crowd when I unload it from the trailer and some people are amazed that I made it into a racer and not a puller. I just like the body is and the way the hood slops down. I think with a better power plant for next year and now we have to run billet flywheels it should get around the track pretty good. Thanks for looking and if you have any question just ask because im sure I will be bugging people as im new to the mower scene but not the racing world. http://m1307.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/Mowster1982/IMG_20121120_220854_zps43d055cb.jpg.html?o=0&newest=1 let me know if the link dont work
By the way thats an older picture so some things may seem off. I will have a better picture soon

Oh ok just making sure, I knew I've never seen one but didn't mean they didn't make it. Nice looking mower.

Talking to a guy now that has a 42 pressure lube for $100  :woo: but he lives a good 4 hours away   :omg: going to talk to him more later when I get off. I'm sure it will cost the same to ship it as it would to fill up my 5.9 L Dodge Ram. So its either go ahead and build up the splash or spend the money and get the pressure lube....
