Kawasaki FV540C parts
« on: October 02, 2012, 08:19:54 am »
Does anyone make an overbore piston for these?

I have a number for the complete gasket set, does anyone have a cheaper place to get them?

This will be going on a GP/ModXR or a grass cutter if it doesn't perform.  I would really like to try one before the All American.

I need all the help I can get on this one.  Thanks

May also be interested in selling trading, depending on what you have.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Chris, to my knowledge nobody is maing any parts for these. But as with anything else I would say you could make whatever fit with the time and resources. That one would be totally up to you. As for putting one on a GP, WOW they work quite well. And as for cheaper gaskets, no...Kawasaki stuff is EXPENSIVE for some reason.

FC540V works great in GP/MXR, and in domestic grass cutters & other commercial gas powered equipment.
I have 6 of them in racers now, all are over 30 years old and will still, yank you out of the seat. Bottom end grunt is extreme.
These work especially well for a "Heavier" driver

No Aftermarket parts because this engine is discontinued.

We are building one of these for performance use, everything is one-off and proprietary.

That engine doesnt need bored they are torque mosters. Just as much as a kohler. I ran one in ss and first race with it came in third second race came in second. Fist time ever in that class on that tractor and it wasnt even mine. I can only imagine what it would do in mxr. The parts are so pricey because they came out around 30 years ago are discontinued and are still mowing alot of grass... literally the tractors fall apart around them that has to say something about those engines...
There's somethin' in the works...
