I have a MCP master & caliper setup on my tractor, I am actuating the master via a brake lever & cable setup on handlebars but I do not think there is enough travel. Any ideas on how to set this up? Should I use a wilwood handlebar master to actuate the MCP caliper instead? Would the wilwood supply enough pressure to actuate both cylinders in the MCP caliper? Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy one of these wilwood master's also. I am in Canada so a Canadian contact would be better.

i tried that same setup few years back, my biggest problem was getting enough leverage or pull on the master cylinder to make the brakes work good, to do over i would use the handlebar mounted master cylinder, if you look in the build section, Squidd used a set-up like that on his fx build!

I have a wildwood master off a arctic cat sled on my FX. Use it on a wheel.
I'm running BTS front brakes and BTS rear brakes. All off that master.
I can lock up all 4 wheels no problem. But I also use all braided line so there is no swelling to rob stopping power.

your cable idea will work,you just need more fullcrum,or pulling leveage. make an extention on your mcp master up higher then the stock one,or add to the stocker for more leverage when you pull the brake.

I already have an extension added to give more leverage, I have brakes but they could be much better if there was more stroke. The brake lever does not give it enough stroke.

thats the problem i had, in order to get enough leverage to have good line pressure, which requires extending the lever on the master cylinder, i ran out of travel with the brake lever and cable, i thought about some type of bell crank but never looked into much more than that

Sounding like the wilwood handlebar master might be the way to go then. Can someone tell me where I could purchase a wilwood left hand master?

try ebay,look up a master cycl for a arctic cat zr 600. that will work for ya.

I see your in Canada. Find a sled junkyard. Arctic cat ran them for many years.
I got mine from Mowhawks salvage in Hibbing, MN.

We had the same problem with the MCP Brakes. What we found: We had too much of an air gap between the Pad and the Rotor, Bring the Gap down and you will see a huge difference
