As a sanctioning body with chapters across the United States and Canada ARMA has always tried to plan with a focus on the fact that we are a national organization.  For that reason, we have rotated the location of ARMA finals to a variety of venues.  This year we were offered the choice of two wonderful tracks for our season ending races.  We worked closely with the operators of both tracks for several months.  We wondered how to determine which would be the best choice for all racers.  Before we could decide how to choose, one of the two tracks experienced problems that prevented them from being a host track this year.  But, it left us with a question of how to choose a location if we were faced with multiple locations in the future.  The ARMA Board of Directors will address this issue when it meets in the winter.  If you have input about this, please email it to me directly so I can include it on the agenda.  And, if you have a venue that you believe would be a good host track for the 2013 finals, email me that information as well so we can create a preliminary list.

With that said, we are pleased to post that Wiconisco Speedway in Pennsylvania will be the host track for the 2012 finals.   woo woo We are composing a detailed schedule for the weekend, so stay tuned for some additions and potential changes.  Directions for where to locate registration forms and dinner reservations will follow.

I forgot to mention the information on the ARMA point system and how it will be used to crown champions.  Throughout the year, racers have accumulated points from national point series level races.  Based upon where the racers live, they have been ranked in their respective regions.  The top five racers in each class in each region will be eligible to compete for the national championships.  Based upon where they finished in the regional rankings, these top five drivers will bring "starting points" with them to finals. Racers in first place in their region will bring 400 points, second place 350, third place 300, fourth place 250, and fifth place 200.  Racers in first through fifth place in their region will be able to draw pills for the top positions on the grid-other drivers will draw pills for remaining positions.  Top five regional drivers will receive additional points for their finishes on Saturday.  The highest point values will be champions of their classes.

EVERYONE is welcome to come and race at ARMA finals.  Whether it is your first ARMA race, or your hundredth, we would love for you to come out and have a great race weekend!!!  woo woo woo bigsmile bigsmile

Dinner tickets can be claimed either by mail or at registration on Saturday.  50/50 raffles will be held at the track and the banquet.  And, don't forget there are a few remaining tickets for the RAACE mower.  $5 a ticket for a chance to win this beautiful mower!  All proceeds go to the RAACE Foundation.  The winning ticket will be pulled at the banquet on Saturday evening.
