you should not do it... it could kill you... if your a kid and blow up dads new mower, he'll kill you, if your married and blow up a new mower (and void the warranty) your wife will kill you...

seriously though, stare at it, when its running, if you don't get how a carb works then don't mess with it, it really will void your warranty. if you blow it you'll be paying out about half what you paid for the mower just to get the motor (plus installation fees).

(with a formula, thats a fairly new engine according to the guy at my local authorized stealership, cuz I have one too)

have you improved the brakes? steering?

:welcome: oh yah, and welcome to the forums :welcome:

i did it to my old racer had to turn it up to 3850.  if you look behind the govener plate there will be a spring somewhere in there you just bend it.  but remeber if its stock right now you have the most power you will get outa it

you could even hok fishing string up on the govener arm and just pull on that >:D well you have to figuer out how to make it pull the right way 1st

I am familiar with these types of engines its that governors are probably my least familiar subject when it comes to engines.

I want to know how to adjust or remove the governor without opening the case because the pulley is stuck on the driveshaft for now

you dont want to remove it without opening the case. best thing i can tell you is to get a pully puller, or make on if your not going to reuse the old one, and pull it out that way, just remember to plug the hole.

if you are insistant on raising it, i would like to see that you have ungraded steering and brakes before we let you know how its done.

Thats the rumor, but I have a HH60 that turns 6 grand with the stock rotating assembly. I backed off the cam a full tooth, and shimmed the springs .060. Its like a 351 Cleaveland Ford. It hits 3000 rpm and the power comes on. Its still alive.

My snowblower has a Tecumseh engine on it.

Absolutely anything past 1/2 throttle and it pukes oil out of the breather like it has an infinite supply inside.
