If you use the ARC flywheel you can easily advance the timing by adjusting the setting on the hub.

You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race! Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one! Chassis too! But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster! I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying! wouldn't run it with the stock flywheel,it is not good for the rpm the heads can make it go too,the flywheel will explode and someone could be hurt or deadI

Both US and ARMA require a Billett Flywheel for this year on ungoverned classes. If you want to partipicate with either of these organizations, you need the flywheel.

I think you guys missed his question.. He has carb intake and heads.. He is Getting a cam, rods and Flywheel...
What other parts does he need to build his vanny?
Rockers? Valves? Springs? Pushrods? Lifters? etc....And which one of these should he get first?

you will definately want to change to stronger valve springs and retainers (unless the heads you get from Ryker have valves and springs already installed. If he built them then he knows which rockers live and which die an untimely death!... lol) If the heads are fully built I would say to address the air filter set up. Stock vanny's have a pancake style filter setup. Your gonna want more air than the stock setup provides. Ive used a few different air filter setups on my vanguard but ec and pvt have the best for this engine in my opinion. Also you may look at doing the long rod/flat piston combo while your doing the rods. The smaller vanny vtwins have some cubic inches to make up for when compared to the inteks or kohlers, but built right you will have NO problem making up for that difference. (no matter how many people tell you there is no replacement for displacement!).. Also you are running a vanguard which means you are running an engine that loves the higher rpms more than the lower grunt so gear accordingly! Lastly I would say make sure to throw out the aluminum pushrods and use either two exhaust (steel) push rods or get some chrome moly pushrods. If you are new to this as you said then this will be PLENTY of power to get you where you wanna go... fast!!!!

If Ryan did the heads they are probably "O" ringed and you will need to use copper head gaskets
