New s/p deere build
« on: March 14, 2012, 04:05:15 am »
Here start to my new build.  I got the chassis from Jayson Mikula and he had some of the work done already to the mower like he had front axle done and straight axle done in the back.  So now I just have to finish it.

This is how I got minus the engine which is just sitting it.

I LOVE THE OLD 108-116'S. FIRST ONE I EVER BUILT WAS OUT OF A 111. RAN IT FOR A YEAR AND MOVED ON TO A 180. GREAT MACHINES TO BUILD AND RUN.

These chassis have great potential in my own opinion. I personally run a 180, which is the same frame with newer sheetmetal.

ALMOST THE SAME FRAME. A 180 HOOD WILL NOT BOLT ON DIRECTLY TO A 111 FRAME. SORRY ZACH. THEY ARE VERY CLOSE.

I no you guys are thinking why does it have to 2 hoods on it well they take up less room in the garage.  But I'm running a stock deere 111 hood un-modified

Got the front end all welded and primed tonight.  Most off you are thinking why its not adjustable well I got it like this all tacked together.  So instead of changing it I just used it.

I welded the tranny plate in but I welded it to high.  Now the engine is to low so now I'm going to cut it out and reweld the tranny plate.

Tranny plate welded in wrong

As you can see the tranny is going to hit the steering to

Another pic of my mistake

The only good thing that happened last was I got the fenders mounted.  On the of the fenders I raised it up about 1 inch because before you were sliding off the seat.  I couldn't lower the back because it would hit the tire.

The front
