Gonna be racing on coke syrup for the first time here in a few weeks.  Anyone have any setup suggestions on tire pressures, or suggestions in general?  I don't think we'll be getting any hot laps since this is a monster truck show, so it's pretty much a one shot deal to figure it out lol.

Right side tires tight!   I ran 20psi in right rear. 15 right front on a SP. left side never touches enough to matter.

But I ran them at 10 if you care.

Syrup is STICKY!

Kind of sounds like It's the flavoring that mixes with carbonated water in fountain soda machines.  bigsmile

It is just what it sounds like.  It's the syrup they us to make Coke....or pepsi....or sprite.  They spray it on polished concrete floors  in arenas a few hours before showtime and let it dry, in order to get traction.  Once dry, the stuff gets REALLY sticky.  The arena we are racing in doesn't allow them to bring dirt in for the show, so we have to race on this stuff.

We have used it in a lot of our shows and we apply it.. Use a spray bottle and apply light, it does not take much. We like it best just half way into the turns to the exit of the turns only. Slide in, hang on and bite out.

Best tip...DONT WRECK!
Cement hurts! And then they make you lay down to check it out, you get stuck in the syrup and when they tell you "OK you can get up" you wont be able to move your arms because they are stuck to the floor and for just a little second you will freak out because you think you are paralyzed! omg

Just saying....it could happen Tongue

One big "Beware" the Monster Trucks seem to like doing donuts, when they rotate around one of the front tires, it burns up the syrup, guess what happens when you are flat out in a curve and you hit an area that no longer has traction?

Guess my only thought would be that it isn't the best thing in the world to run mowers on pavement having locked rear axles and all. Its a bit rough for the transmissions.

It wont bother a live axle setup. Just harder on tires.
